A local man who said Britain can’t afford to take on Ukrainian refugees and that Britain needs to take care of its own first doesn’t want to do either, it’s emerged.
Peter Nigelson, 44, believes that Britain is doing the right thing by taking in an embarrassingly low number of Ukrainian refugees while Russia continues to shell the shit out of Ukraine.
“No refugees. Britain is full enough as it is. Just the other day I was standing in the middle of the aisle at Sainsbury’s for a couple of minutes and someone had the cheek to ask me to move so they could get past.
“I didn’t fight in the war (editor’s note: we checked, he really didn’t) to get moved along while I’m taking a stupidly long time to pick which brand of ketchup I want,” Peter began.
Peter insists that the resources used to help Ukrainian refugees would be better allocated to helping the British people.
We asked if that meant helping homeless people get off the streets, properly funding the NHS, increasing benefits for those struggling to get by, and lowering the cost of higher education, Peter became livid.
“That’s socialism!” he yelled.
