Larry the Cat has admitted that he is the one that hosted a party at 10 Downing Street on December 23rd 2020, breaking the government guidelines for lockdown.

Larry the Cat, 14, invited friends around for a “kibble and catnip” party while Prime Minister Boris Johnson was absent from 10 Downing Street, presumably chasing a different kind of pussy.

“My ‘kibble and catnip’ Christmas party is an annual tradition but I admit that I showed an error of judgement to go ahead with the gathering in the middle of a lockdown.

“I can only apologise to those I’ve offended. I will, of course, resign from my position as Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office,” Larry told the press.

While not confirmed, it’s believed that Dilyn - the prime minister’s dog – might have been the first one to leak news about the party to the press.

The cat police will not be investigating the party though as they’re currently inundated with millions of reports of items being pushed off the edge of tables.
