James Corden has revealed that he’s never once considered being funny or likeable when being the antithesis of those things has brought him so much success.
During an interview, the host of ‘The Late Late Show’ was asked if he’d ever considered being funny or likeable.
‘Not for one second,’ he answered. ‘There are a lot of funny and likeable people out there who haven’t had one per cent of the success I’ve had. Why would I change a winning formula?
‘I’ve found that talent, in general, isn’t a prerequisite to be successful, especially in the United States. You just turn up in a suit and laugh at people who are much funnier than you. It’s money for old rope.’
Corden’s admission that he is neither funny nor likeable is the most relatable he’s ever been. He is still best avoided though.
