Hollywood actress Emma Stone is set to marry former football player Steve Stone after an unlikely whirlwind romance.
The couple first met at the Papplewick Pumping Station in Nottingham. Papplewick Pumping Station is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of Victorian industrial design.
“I’ve always been a massive fan of Victorian industrial design and was finally able to make to trip over to Nottingham. That’s where I met Steve. He told me he went almost every day and we hit it off talking about industrial design throughout the centuries,” Emma told us.
While Steve told us, “I had no idea who she was. I’d never watched a movie before I met Emma. I’ve since watched two; I didn’t care for them but it’s important to try new things.”
Soon the pair were doing some pumping of their own and it was only months after meeting that Steve popped the big question.
“Y’fancy trying a doner kebab?” he asked Emma. Later that night, he also asked her to marry him.
After much consideration though, Emma Stone says that she won’t take Steve’s surname because she doesn’t want to lose part of her identity.
“I wrestled with the decision for a long time. I considered changing my name to Emma Stone for Steve. Then I thought about hyphenating so I’d be Emma Stone-Stone. I even contemplated Emma Stone² but that just feels like mathematical nonsense,” said Emma.
Emma and Steve will be married next month.
