David Cameron has offered to house any pigs in danger of being culled due to a shortage of workers in abattoirs.
Pig farmers have been warning for weeks that labour shortages have led to a massive backlog of pigs left stranded on farms.
Rather than being sent to abattoirs, many of the pigs could be culled on farms to clear space. This process would render the pig unfit for human consumption.
However, former prime minister and well-known pig lover David Cameron has offered to house any pigs in his local area who are in danger of being culled.
“Pigs are beautiful creatures and it would be my honour to house them during this difficult time. There’s plenty of room in my house and I would relish their company,” he told us.
Unfortunately, the pigs would also be unfit for human consumption after staying with David Cameron so it’s not seen as a serious solution.
