A couple who took the midnight training going anywhere couldn’t hide their disappointment that it ended up in Grimsby.

Kristian Goff and Beatriz Beard set off on a train journey that promised mystery and intrigue but were deeply disappointed to find that the locomotive stopped in Grimsby.

“When you’re told that that midnight train could go anywhere, you expect a certain level of quality still. We were thinking we’d end up in Paris, Rome, Barcelona or Amsterdam – somewhere like that. Not fucking Grimsby,” Kristian complained.

Beatriz was quick to follow, “The tickets weren’t cheap either. No one wants to pay £300-a-piece to end up in Grimsby.”

But the manager of the company behind the midnight train going anywhere has defended the final destination.

“We can end up anywhere. That’s part of the romance of the journey. Some will win, some will lose. Could end up in Paris, could end up in Grimsby.”
