Chris Pratt will voice Vladimir Putin in a new animated movie that will focus on the Russian president’s life leading up to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The movie has been greenlit by Shammock Studios, has an estimated budget of $150 million, and is titled “Putin on the Blitz”.
It’s as yet unknown exactly how the script will tackle the complexities of Putin’s character, or the situation that he now finds himself in, but the genre of the movie is listed as an animated action-comedy.
What is known is that Chris Pratt was quick to sign on to play the role of Vladimir Putin, a man he says he’s admired for some time.
“While I don’t support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, I don’t think that Vladimir Putin is the villain that we make him out to be sometimes.
“He has some very interesting ideas that I personally ascribe to that my agent really doesn’t want me talking about,” Pratt told us.
Producers of the film are hoping to complete the project by the end of 2022.
“We’re just hoping Putin’s still alive by then,” one of them told us.
