As many as 40% of music listeners can’t tell any difference between Placebo and The Cure, according to the latest research.

While both bands employ a similar alternative look, their music is actually quite different. However, many people can’t tell the difference.

The test was performed by taking one hundred subjects, strapping them down and forcing them to listen to a playlist made purely from songs performed by The Cure or Placebo.

‘They both made me feel like shit after listening to them. One might be the genuine article and the other a fake but who cares, as long as they work?’ asked one listener.
